Gringo has got some serious balls to say the least. So much so, that he even threw up a couple middle fingers to the Ford die hards. As the story goes, Gringo was ordered new from the factory in '74 to accompany a Baja race team out on the dunes. Built on June 21st, 1974 and sold new on August 6th, 1974 by the Smith Ford Company of Garden Grove, California, Gringo represents only 1 of 47 Custom Package trucks for the 1974 model year painted in this double mint pleasure of Pastel Lime and Limestone Green Metallic.
In fact, the Chevy powerplant was swapped in specifically for the trips to Mexico as it was capable of running better on the shit gas south of the border. Guess that says a few things for the hoity-toity Ford buffs. They don't dare use basura gasolina.
Later model axles were swapped in front for disc brakes and the long-arm Western mirrors from the factory were swapped in with low-mount Swing-locks for space saving. Gringo also needs to feel one with nature. That's why he sports a sweet pop-up sunroof and Cowboy hat rack for the times you gotta wash up with yer ol' lady down by the river.
Let's not forget the badass grille guard and Mercury Model MR10 Winch up front, saddle tank, and the sweet little side mirror on the upper A-pillar to check the Federales in your rear view down in Baja.
