Can you imagine 1967 luxury like this? The LTD designation has been speculated by some to be an abbreviation of "Luxury Trim Decor" and by others as a "Limited" trim designation for the Galaxie. There is evidence in early 1970s Australian LTD sales brochures, that "Lincoln Type Design" was adapted by Ford's Australian marketing, as the meaning of the LTD nameplate to play up Lincoln-like exclusitivity and design influence of its Falcon-based LTD luxury car, since actual Lincoln models were not sold in that country. However, there is no evidence of "Lincoln Type Design" nor any other meaning ever being used in brochures or advertising copy of North American sales literature. The original Car Life review at the time the first Galaxie 500 LTD was released suggests that "LTD" stood for nothing and was ambiguous in meaning.

Powered by her original 390 "Z" Code 4-barrel carburetor and 3-speed automatic transmission, our '67 Galaxie LTD Fastback has a presence rarely seen in a big bodied car from this era. Sleek, muscular and refined, the LTD trim adds the super lux formal vinyl roof up top. For the age, the original top is untouched and utterly gorgeous. More on the outside: the exterior Wimbledon White paint is also original. Body lines are in great shape, without any significant dents or damage.

This big girl was built on August 29th, 1966 and sold new on October 8th, 1966 by J & B Ford Sales of Corte Madera, California. After spending its initial life in California, the car spent many years in the State of Washington before returning home for Prom to Southern California in early 2022. Ford produced over 46,000 LTD 2-door coupes for the 1967 model year; yet, only 500 were made in this color combination and trim.
